What's the safest contraceptive method if you don't want to get pregnant?

Our Expert Says

Unprotected sex is never safe. A condom, when used correctly, is the safest birth control as it also protects against both pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Whilst the week before and the week after the first day of your period, if you have a regular cycle, is less risky than other points in your cycle, you can still get pregnant - so you should always use some form of contraception.
